Another Day, Same Thing {Jon}

He laughed and waved off the look that Ruby was giving him. He had no idea who would step up to the plate if something happened to him. Well he thought of Adam right away if only because he knew Dom wouldn't have liked taking over a group like that. He started munching on his burger once more as he listened to Ruby speak for a moment. It made sense to him that Ruby was thinking about a million things at once. She knew she could come to him if she needed to so he didn't even bother saying anything out loud.

When his mouth was empty he opened it to say something to the panwere across from himself when his phone picked that moment to go off. Sighing he offered a face to Ruby before wiping his hands off on a napkin and reaching into his pocket to tug out the small phone. He flipped it open and pressed it to his ear as he grabbed his drink up once more. "Jon here." He had only taken a small sip before having to put the drink down. "He's where? Hang on tight. I'll be there in a second." he snapped the phone shut and tossed a couple of bills onto the table. "Sorry Ruby. Gotta go. One of the Omegas shifted just outside of town. I gotta stop him from getting snagged up. I'll meet you back at the house." After that he slipped out of the seat and hurried out of the diner intent on getting to his cat before the cops did.

Ruby worked on finishing her burger, grateful that it didn't take long. Part of her wondered if she should have ordered more considering her appetite. She wondered absently if having two infections made her twice as hungry as one would. She would have to look into it. Though, Ruby wasn't quite sure how. It wasn't like panweres were numerous and all over. They were few and far between.

A small frown creased her features as the phone went off. She hated those types of nuisances. Well, with Jon's job she supposed there wasn't much she could do about it. After all, it was a job that demanded attention. The worry that she heard in his voice caused her frown to grow, looking more worried than upset. His explanation caused her to nod and she watched as he bolted out. That was even more important than his job. They didn't need any of their pard getting in trouble. Taking a deep breath, the panwere finished off her burger and got up, making her way out of the diner and back to the pard house.
